"The highest purpose of martial training is not merely to master technique. It is to cultivate the practitioner."

Video 3: The 30-Day Practice

From the desk of Jon Haas, The Warrior Coach:

Dear Warrior Friends,

For nearly forty years, I believed I was studying martial arts.

Only later did I realize that martial arts had been quietly studying me.

Every class.

Every repetition.

Every injury.

Every lesson.

Every teacher.

Every success.

Every failure.

All of them were asking the same question.

Who are you becoming?

That question has shaped my life.

It has also shaped everything I teach.

Over the past several weeks, thousands of martial artists have read the first in the series of  Iron Body Letters.

Many of you wrote to tell me that the philosophy resonated deeply.

You saw your own journey reflected in those pages.

But many of you also shared another thought.

"I don't want another course."

Neither do I.

Information has never been the problem.

Implementation has.

Reading about daily practice is not the same as developing one.

Understanding structure is not the same as embodying it.

Agreeing with a philosophy is not the same as living it.

That realization inspired me to create something different.

This is NOT another online course.

It is thirty days of guided practice.

Beginning on July 15, I'll personally lead a small group of martial artists through the foundational practices of the Iron Body philosophy.

For one month, we'll train together.

We'll ask better questions.

We'll build better habits.

Most importantly, we'll begin cultivating the body beneath the art.

This isn't about dramatic transformation.

It's about laying a foundation that can support the next thirty years of your martial journey.

During these 30 days, we'll focus on five essential principles.

1) Structure

Learning how to organize the body so that movement begins from stability rather than effort.

2) Connection

Developing whole-body integration so force travels powerfully without unnecessary loss.

3) Breath and Pressure

Using breath to support posture, movement, structure, and calm resilience under pressure.

4) Daily Cultivation

Creating a sustainable personal practice that strengthens both body and character.

5) Integration

Bringing these principles together so they become part of the way you move—not just something you understand intellectually.

Our objective isn't to master these ideas in thirty days.

Our objective is to establish a practice that can continue serving you for the rest of your life.

Here's what you'll receive.

Four Live Online Coaching Sessions with Jon Haas

Each week we'll meet live online for instruction, demonstrations, discussion, and guided practice.

We'll work through them together.

Continue learning long after the thirty days conclude.

Daily Accountability

Simple daily check-ins to help you remain faithful to your practice.

Because the path is built one day at a time.

Your Permanent Training Library

While we'll spend thirty days training together, you'll also receive lifetime access to the complete Iron Body Core System.

Think of the Core System as your permanent training library.

It contains the complete curriculum we'll be drawing from throughout our month together, allowing you to revisit lessons, deepen your understanding, and continue practicing long after the apprenticeship has concluded.

During our live sessions, I'll show you how these pieces fit together into a single developmental path.

You'll never be left wondering:

"Where do I begin?"

Or...

"What should I practice next?"

We'll walk that path together.

Your Iron Body Core System Includes:

The Iron Body Daily Eight (module 1)

Your daily foundation for building structure, mobility, resilience, and whole-body strength.

Advanced Daily Eight (module 2)

The natural progression that expands your practice as your body develops.

Zhan Zhuang Unleashed (module 3)

Standing meditation for structural alignment, rooting, internal connection, and relaxed power.

The Iron Silk Method (module 4)

A complete tendon-strengthening system inspired by the Yi Jin Jing tradition.

Martial Qigong (module 5)

Breath, movement, and internal cultivation for lifelong health and martial capability.

The Iron Body Kata System (module 6)

Bringing all of the principles together into an integrated daily practice.

The Iron Body Manual

The philosophy, principles, and developmental roadmap behind the entire system.

Practice Journal & Training Protocols

Tools to help you establish a consistent, sustainable lifelong practice.

But here's the important distinction...

The videos are not the apprenticeship.

The curriculum is not the transformation.

The transformation comes from practicing.

That's why I created this guided thirty-day experience.

We'll take the complete Iron Body curriculum and bring it to life—one practice, one conversation, and one day at a time.

Who is this for?

This intensive is for martial artists who...

• Have spent years collecting techniques but know their body could better support their art.

• Want greater structure, resilience, and longevity—not simply more muscular strength.

• Value thoughtful practice over quick fixes.

• Believe that daily cultivation matters more than occasional inspiration.

• Are ready to stop searching for the next technique and begin building the practitioner.

Who is this NOT for?

If you're looking for a thirty-day miracle...

This isn't it.

If you're searching for secret techniques that promise instant mastery...

This isn't that either.

This intensive is for people willing to embrace something quieter.

Something slower.

Something deeper.

The lifelong work of cultivation.

Why am I doing this?

Because after teaching online for many years, I've realized something important.

People don't simply need more information.

They need guidance.

They need accountability.

They need community.

They need someone to walk beside them as they establish a practice worthy of the art they love.

For the first time, that's exactly what I'd like to offer.

Investment

Founding Cohort

$197

This is the very first time I'll be leading The Beginning of the Path as a live guided apprenticeship.

Because this inaugural group will help shape the future of the program—and the culture of the Iron Body community—I'm offering a special Founding Cohort investment of $197.

Future cohorts will be offered at the regular investment of $497.

If you've been looking for the right time to begin, I believe this is it.

I'd be honored to have you with us.

We Begin July 15, 2026

Every meaningful journey begins with a single step.

If the Iron Body Letters spoke to something you've been feeling for years...

If you've been searching not merely for another course, but for a deeper way of practicing...

Then I'd be honored to guide you through the first thirty days.

Let's begin building the body beneath the art.

A Personal Note

This apprenticeship is intentionally small.

Not because scarcity creates demand.

But because meaningful guidance requires attention.

During these thirty days, I'll be answering questions, leading live coaching sessions, participating in our private community, and helping each practitioner establish a daily practice.

That simply isn't possible with an unlimited number of participants.

For that reason, I'm limiting this inaugural apprenticeship to 30 Founding Practitioners.

I'd much rather work closely with thirty committed martial artists than superficially with hundreds.

If this first cohort fills, we'll begin another group in the future.

But this founding group will only happen once.

If you'd like to be one of the practitioners who helps establish the culture and direction of the Iron Body community from the very beginning, I'd be honored to have you join us.

We begin July 15.

*** Applications close on July 14th, or when all 30 places have been filled—whichever comes first. ***

Let's begin building the body beneath the art.

P.S.

One of the ideas that has stayed with me throughout my martial journey comes from Matsuo Bashō:

"Do not seek to follow in the footsteps of the wise; seek what they sought."

This 30-day apprenticeship is not about becoming another version of me.

It is about beginning your own search—with guidance, with practice, and with a community of fellow practitioners walking beside you.

This first apprenticeship isn't for everyone.

It's for martial artists who understand that lasting progress isn't built through occasional bursts of motivation.

It's built through thoughtful practice, daily return, and a willingness to keep walking the path long after the excitement of something new has faded.

If that sounds like you, I think you'll feel at home here.

I hope you'll join us on July 15.

Every meaningful journey begins with a single step.

This apprenticeship is yours.

Thirty days.

Thirty Founding Practitioners.

One shared commitment: to begin building the body beneath the art.

If that resonates with you, I'd be honored to welcome you on July 15.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What if I can't attend one of the live coaching sessions?

No problem. Every live coaching session will be professionally recorded and added to the course area shortly afterward. If life, work, family, travel, or another commitment prevents you from attending live, you'll be able to watch the recording at your convenience and revisit it whenever you'd like. You'll never miss the training.

  • What if I live in another country or a different time zone?

That's absolutely fine. The apprenticeship is designed to welcome martial artists from around the world. Whether you're in North America, Europe, Australia, Asia, or anywhere else, you'll receive access to every recording, worksheet, and discussion. You can participate live whenever your schedule allows and catch up on recordings whenever it doesn't.

  • What if I'm traveling or on vacation during the apprenticeship?

Life happens. The goal isn't perfection. The goal is establishing a practice that fits into real life. If you're away for a few days, simply continue when you can. Every lesson, coaching session, and resource will remain available to you long after the thirty days are over. One of the principles we'll explore together is learning how to adapt your practice rather than abandon it.

  • What if I already own the Iron Body Core System?

Wonderful. Then you're already part of the family. As a thank-you for your support, all current Iron Body Core System owners are automatically invited to participate in this inaugural apprenticeship at no additional cost. Simply watch your email for instructions on how to join us.

  • I already own a few of your Iron Body programs. Is this still worthwhile?

Absolutely. In fact, this apprenticeship was created specifically for people in that situation. Many martial artists own the Daily Eight, Iron Silk Method, Martial Qigong, or Zhan Zhuang Unleashed—but still aren't completely sure how all the pieces fit together. During these thirty days, I'll show you how the entire system integrates into one coherent daily practice. Instead of collecting methods, you'll begin following a developmental path.

  • Is this another workout program?

No. While you'll certainly become stronger, more resilient, and more connected, this apprenticeship is about much more than exercise. It's about learning how to cultivate the body that supports your martial art. We'll explore structure, breath, pressure, elasticity, durability, integration, and the habits that allow these qualities to develop over a lifetime.

  • How much time should I plan to train each day?

Most practitioners will spend 20–40 minutes per day, depending on experience and schedule. The emphasis is not on spending hours training. It's on establishing a consistent, sustainable practice that you can realistically continue for years. Some days you'll train longer. Some days you'll train less. The important thing is learning how to return.

  • I'm over 40. Is this appropriate for me?

Absolutely. In fact, much of the Iron Body philosophy was developed specifically with mature martial artists in mind. The focus isn't on exhausting your body. It's on rebuilding its capacity through intelligent, progressive practice. Many practitioners discover they actually feel better, move better, and recover more easily as they establish a consistent Iron Body practice.

  • I'm a beginner. Will I be able to keep up?

Yes. Everything is taught progressively. Whether you've been training for six months or forty years, the emphasis is on developing sound fundamentals. There is no expectation that everyone begins at the same level. The goal is steady, thoughtful improvement. Will experienced martial artists still benefit? Without question. Many experienced practitioners tell me that the apprenticeship helps them understand principles they've encountered throughout their martial journey but never fully connected. Rather than replacing your current art, the Iron Body philosophy strengthens the body that expresses it.
